THEATRE ROYAL PERMANENT PICTURES.
The> Theatre .Royal was .again packed last night when tho final screening of tho current programme, together with tho star film""Shanghaied," again met 'with unbounded enthusiasm. To-night an entirely liisw series wi.l.be screened, beaded by a sensationally enacted detective story entitled "The .Resurrection of Nick Winter," or "Tho Petrol Bandits." A gang of thieves have chosen for their operations an art museum. The director of thc^musenm has discovered the leader of the gang, and has had him arrested. Irf revenge tho other members kidnap his daughter. Till© old nian gets Nick Winter to take up the case. Nick .succeeds ■•. in. travelling with the thieves in their own .motor, but Ms disguise is- penetrated, and ho is taken gagged-to. the riverside'-.'-He succeeds in over powering his captor, and throws him into the river. Next morning the papers advertise the great detecthne's death. Tho thieves, think tho detective to be, >dead, and this enables him to lead them to a coun- v try house wherp their capture is effected by tine blowing up of the house. The realistic effect of...the last scene stamps it i« a masterpiece. .'A-'brilliantly produced Vitagraoh comedy,'"Too Much Wooing of ■Handsome Dan"; "Army Manoeuvres," a remarkably interesting series of Britain's defenders at work; "The Cross Roads" an appealing drama by the Vitagraph -Company; "On the Honeymoon,' 7 a. Max Linder comic; "The Loafer's Mother," Western drama; the latest "Topical Gazette," etc., compile a first class collection.
