Wellington, Fob. 12. The conference of inspectors of ■schools commenced to-day, Tho opening address was given by Mr. Hogben, the Inspector-General. "He urged the introduction of vocational courses into scc'ondarv schools. This, ho stated, was essentially a course of general education, in which a certain part of the work was brought into close, contact with the facts of the life, alms, and objects of the most probable calling the pupil would follow.
