v Hastings, Feb. 11. .The work' of the new butcliers. at th» local freezing works continues to im» prove, and. come very: good,tallies are being recorded. Thirteen butchers went oil the. boards at Pakipaki' yesterday., and the highest tally was 54. Sixteen men were^slaughtering to-da.y. Eleven hundred and" seventy-five sheep were put tbrougliat Tomoana yesterday. The situation in regard to the strike; ■was .dj«cu.ssed at a meeting of the Hawke'e Bay Sheep-owners'' Onion this afternoon. t lthe meeting was not open to the Press; but at the conclusion, theI secretary.stated -that the following resolution wag - unanimously passed :— "That this meeting of 6heep-dwiiere approves of the etaiid taken up by the freezing companies in regard to tho strike of thio^slaughtermbn, and proposes to support the companies to their utmost in; the event of:tlieir active support being reqTiired.''-v::^...:- -: ■■■ .■■■./. .:; ".
