NELSON TROTTING CLUB.

The Nelson Trotting Club's annual raoo meeting will take place at Richmond Park this"afternoon, the first race commencing at1 1.30 p.m. ' Large acceptances have been received for ail the events, and given fine weather, there is every prospect of an interesting afternoon's sport. Considerable improvements have been to the course, including the enlargement of the saddling paddock, and the erectidn of a now and commodious totalisator house. The Mayor, invites shop keepers to close their premises at 11 o'clock instead of 1 p.m. Several extra trains will run to-day from both ends of the lino, including one from town at 12.30 p.m. which will enable patrons to arrive in ample time for tho first race. At a meeting of the committee held on Monday afternoon final arrangements were made. Among other things it, .was resolved that all horses must be saddled in the ©addling paddock, otherwise ownerg and trainers will be liable to a penalty. A very complete, race card has been compiled, and is on sale at Alf. Robinson's bookseller,, Hai-dy street.
