RULES AND REGULATIONS.

AIL protest* mustvbe accompanied by a deposit of £2, which Bihall be forfeited should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Provided that in the Trotting Races the Deposit mt^st be i£s, which shall;bo forfeited if such protest be not sustained. 3. AH nomination^ close at the Secretary's office. Nelson; on Friday, 7th February, at V p.m. . # .'•■.■• 4. Nominations must be made m writing addressed "Secretary,. Jockey Club, Nelson," -and if by telegram, must be ; confirmed by letter first mail afterwards, and to be accompaiued by the necessary fees, also name, age, colour, sex, and pedigree of the horee, and colours to be worn by the rider or driver. Any owner neglecting to furnish this information _»t th© time of nomination will be fined £5. 6. The flat races will be /run under the rules of the New Zealand Rules of Racing. - The Trotting events will be run under the Rules of the New Zealand Trotting Association. 6. Rules of Trotting:—By the entry of. or endeavouring to enter, a horse,'every, person having, or subsequently acquiring any interest in such horse shall be deemed to accept all the conditions and restrictions imposed or implied by these rules, and to be barred from questioning the action or conduct of the club holding,*., sports'meeting, or of'any "official of the club, or. .such .otherBody'in respect of -.such horse, or of any person connected therewith, otherwise that is provided for in Part XXX. 8. Owners of trotters must give with nomination tho last three performances, and also the best winning time tho horse hae ever made. 9. The names of the trainer and owner, or owners, must be, included in all acceptance forms when acceptances are sent'in, in dofault of which the owner, or trainer, may be fined a sum not exceeding £-5, or disqualified. 10. The totalisator will pay out on first and second horse© in every event in which six or more-horses start. 11. All stakes paid in full.
