The "Lancet's" sorresponddnts report that the mortality arising from disease in the Balkans is likely to be enormous. Tho arrangements of both sides for dealing with the sick and wounded are inadequate.
Starving non-combatants are pouring into Constantinople, where disease is likely to decimate them.
