The following is the Rev D. C. Bates' weather forecast and summary from 5 p.m. to-day • —

The barometer lias fallen everywhere, with increasing cloudiness, and a drizzling rain in northern and southernmost districts, and on. the west coast of tho South Island. Freshening northerly winds have prevailed, especially over, the South Island. A westerly storm area appears to be enveloping tho country. The present^ indications ar<> for increasing northerly ■ winds, cloudy and unsettled weather, with;rain probable generally, and heavy on the west coast of *the South Island. Tho barometer will probably fall overyAvhore, but a rise is clue after from 24 to 36 hours, when tho winds Avill change to a south-westerly direction.
