Mr P. E. Smith, a British member of Parliament, interviewed, said English public men were awaiting Mr Borden's statement before expressing an opinion regarding the Canadian navy question. Mr Borden's attitude when in England touched tho British imagination. It was'on an equality with Canada's assistance during the South African war.

Mr Walter Long said he did not doubt that Canada would answer the Motherland's need with a mighty shout, saying, "We will see the Navy sufficient for any occasion."
