The following is fche Rcr D. C. Bates' weat!yi«r forecan* and gummary from 5 p.in to-day - The weather has been generally overoast and \msottled, with rain in parts. The winds have been ' westerly, with a .southerly tendency, and strong to gale in parts at times, but have decreased to-day. The barometer has been very •unsteady, falling in the north, and rising and falling again in the soiith. Present indications are for cold and stormy -weather everywhere soon. Rain is probable "genera"ly, with snow on the high levels. Ilio winds will probably increase again shortly, and high soxitherlies will predominate. The barometer is now «xpected to rise, everywhere, and remain high for a short time, but another westerly area of low pressure is due to pass in the south about the middle of next week.
