On Mr Bryan's motion tho committee agreed to defer consideration of the Democratic platform until tho candidate is nominated.
Mr Bryan refused the chairmanship oF tho Resolutions Committee, but forced the election of Mr Kerns to the position.
During a debate on tho question tf unit rule for the States' delegations ■-recommended by the Credentials Committee, a demonstration led by tho Now Jersey delegates was mado in favour of. Mr Woodrow Wilson. It lasted -for 33 minutes.
Others endeavoured to turn tho tide in Mr Underwood's favour.
An attempt was mado to carry his banner to tho platform through the ■Press gallery, whence the bearer war. ejected.
Mr Roosevelt declares that he intends to fight tho Presidential :>s.io
upon the assertion that big interests, trusts, -etc., have combined to force ■him from public life.
