Wellington, May 9. Tho following is the. Itor D. C. Bates' ■weather forecast and summary from 5 p.m. to-day • — Cloudy and unsettled weather has prevailed, with misty and showery conditions in paints. The barometer has fallen slightly in tho north and moderate to strong southeasterly winds have prevailed. Present indications are for moderate to strong south easterly winds generally, cloudy and unsettled weather with rain probable in most parts of tho country, especially over tho North Island, and foggy at times on the east coast of the South Island and in Cook straits. The barometer is unsteady everywhere.
