HAND SEVERELY DAMAGED.

Mr. W. Emms, whilo to lowing his darily duties at Messrs F. Grecmslade and Co.'s tannery in Halifax street yesterday morning, met with a painful accident, his hand being drawn into some machinery and _ badly damaged. Dr. Barr was called in, and he ordered tho Fuffcmr to be removed to tli? Hospital, where an operation was performed. Tho patient is now progressing satisfactorily.

We are'pleased to learn that Mr. William Emms, who had his left arm seriously injured on Monday last is progressing satisfactorily, iand there is a very good chance of saving the arm.

Mrs. Charles Price, who now resides at Brightwater, met with a somewhat severe accident at Dovedalo yesterday while driving to the Baton. The horse bolted, and the trap coming into collision with another vehicle, Mrs. Price was thrown out heavily. Sh« was taken to Mr Walter Thorn's, where first aid waß rendered pending tho' rcrriv.il of Dr. Pearless, who was summoned/ from Wakefield The lady is considerably shaken, and it is hoped that no moro serious injury has been wrought.
