ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The annual general meeting of the Nelson Kennel Club was held in Begg and Co.'s rooms last evening, Mr. A. G. Betts presiding over a garnering of ten. members.

The .secretary, Mr. G. Richmond, read the balance sheet, which showed tho receipts to be £109 8s 2d, and the expenditure £100 4s lOd, leaving a balance in the bank of £9 3s 4d.

Tho balance sheet was adopted. . The secretary drew attention to the fact that the entry fees totalled £60 10s, as against £30 odd the year before. This showed that the number of dogs had increased, to double the number in 1910.

The election of officers resulted as follows :—Patron, Mr. S. Kirkpatrick -, president, Mr. R. S. Booth; vice-presi-dents, Messrs H . R. Duncan, S. C. Chrisp, C J. Harley, N. Adams, W. Bogors, A. H. Bisley, Dr. Andrew, F. Durbridge; lion, solicitor, Mr. W. S. Milner; lion, auditor, Mr. F. Hurley; committee, Messrs. T. Hargreaves, L. Ward, H. Walker, G. Elliot, A. L. Desgranges, S. M. Galbraith, A. G. Betts, T. Mansford, and T. Elliot; hon. vet. chemist, Mr. H. F. West. The appointment of secretary and treasurer was held over for a month.

The chairman said that the next showwould probably be larger oven than the lar.t, and it would bo necessary to provide, better accommodation for the exhibits. They ' could not secure the Poultry Association's gear but this was really too light, and the members should tako out debentures amongst themselves to secure staging, which would be heavier and less risky. - Ma had no doubt that the show would procure sufficient profit to defray the additional expense. Messrs. Walker and Richmond were appointed to wait upori Mr. F. Gibbons with regard to the account for use of the poultry pens at tb.6 last show. A motion of appreciation for his work tn 'connection with the club was passed to Mr. f>. Wells, who leaves for Australia next week. Mr. Wells briofiy responded. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr. H. J. Flatt, informing him that the club.was not prepared to purchase pens. It was decided to hold the annual show on September 27th and 28th, providing tho dates are securable. The meeting resolved to hold an art union of mineral specimens valued at £10, £3, and £2 in "connection with the show.

Votes of thanks to the Press, and to the chairman for presiding brought the meeting to a clobo.
