I (From "The Colonist," April 11.) | The death occurred yesterday morning of Mr. John H. Griffin, a well known and highly respected resident of Nelson. Until about threei years ago deceased was manager of Messrs. Griffin and ;>ons, Ltd., and he severed his connection with the nrm to enter into partnership .with his son, Mr. W. Griffin, as a commission agojit. The late Mr. i>riflhi was born in the Is.c of Wight, and came to the Nelson district with vis. partiats as a child. His father was the founder of the firm which has developed into Griffin and Sons, Ltd. Deceased, who was married tw.io-3, leaves a widow and a large family, who will ha ,c the sympathy of"a wide circle of fiiends in their sad bereavement. Although in failing health for some time past, Mr. Gniiin visited Motueka on .ij^)aday, - ),but taking a- turn for tibe worse returned to his home on Tuesday.

We regret to announce the.death of .sirs.- Warren Stephens (Amae) of tha Pa, Wakapuaka. Tho deceased lady succumbed to an attack of pneumonia after an illness of only four days' duration.
