THE TALISMAN MINE.

Karangahake, May 8. During the month of April the Talisman mine crushed and treated 3600 tons of ore for a return of bullion valued at £17,963 13s Bd. The smaller tonnage and decreased output was owing to the shortage of men in the- mine dunng the Easter holidays. The costs for the past month totalled 41s 9d made up as follows: Mine developing 14s, mining 13s 9d, milling l'2s Bd, general 2s 3d. rlhe following cable has been stint to, th« London office: "Driring north off 12 winze progress 24 feet, reef 42 inches wide, assays value £11 ss: driving south off 12 winze, progress 12 feet, reef >42 inches wide, assay value £2 15s 6d; sinking 1(3 winze, progress 25 feet, reaf 48 inches wide, assay value £2 9s bd; sunk Woodstock shaft 18 feet. Quarterly dividend declared of le 9d payable 4th Juno., transfer books close May 14."
