RIFLE SHOOTING.
NELSON DEFENGeTrIFLE CLUB. On Saturday, Mr A. Van der Burgh's trophy was competed for, over ranges 300 and 500 yards, 7 shots at each. Rifleman J. Manssen secured the leg-in with the splendid score of 63 off the rifle, obtaining the possible at 500 yards. Tho following are the scores of these competing—
