TRADE IN PAPUA.
TO BE DEVELOPED BY JAVANESE
Sydney, May 7
Tho Liouteiiant-Governor of Papua, who is visiting Sydney, states that the industrial development of tho possession is proceeding satisfactorily, and prospects are very bright. The Administration is introducing Javanese labourers for a term of three years for the purpose of teaching the natives Jiow to tap rubber and to cut sisal-hemp. There is plenty of native labour available, but it is deficient in skill; this tho Javanese will impart.
