Tho Wakefield Bowling, Club's concert which was held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Friday evening last, was a huge success, there being a crowded house, and the programme submitted was undoubtedly tho best ever put boforo a Wakefield audience. Great pleasure was given tho audience by the presence of the local favourite, Mrs Harold Moore (nee Miss Clarice Hunt). Messrs Foster and Houlker also gained grout favour with tho audience, who arc eagerly, looking forward to the re-appearance of these three artists at an early date. The performers wer,o loud in their praise of the excellence of the piano, which was kindly lent by Messrs Begg^and Co. The following was the programme:— Mr Foster, "Sparkling Eyes," "Waiata Poi," "Bright Eyes ■GJanceth," "My Old Shako," "A Merry Monk am I,". "Trooper Johnnie Ludlow," "Yeoman's Wedding Song." Messrs Foster and Houlker, "Excelsior," 'The Morn hath raised Her Lamp," "Watchman, what of the Night." Mr Houlker, "Who's for tho Road," "Time was I roved the Mountains," "The Village Blacksmith," •'Like Stars Above." Mr Lightband; "Whit Squall." Mrs Harold Moore, •'Tlwro's a land," "The Little Silver King," "Killarney," "The Sweetest Flower that Blows." Miss Ada Pa liner. "Allana," "Be Good, Sweet Maid." Trio, Miss Palmer, Messrs Edwards and Palmer, "Ye Shepherds Tell Me." Violin solos, Miss Currin (accompanist Miss Fairy). Both were very sweetly rendered and were encored. The accompanist for tho evening was Mr Vernon Rout, Misses G. Palmer and C. Fairey. MiMarcus St John, elocutionist, rendered several items, which wore much enjoyed. They included "Lascar," "Down by the Rio Grande," "The Climate, Climb-it," "Irishisms," "Hamlet's Soliquoy." . The Club are very grateful to all the performers who so willingly came forward) and who always do so when any local institution is to be benefited1) for their valuable assistance.
