Following an old quarrel, wherein exMayor Snow, of Oakland, California, fought an assailant named Goldman, tho latter, aftor his release from the penitentiary, ambushed Snow in the Assembly rooms of tho First Congregational Church.

A revolver duel followed, and Snow Was taken to tho hospital, dying. Goldman is dead.

Goldman had served five years m tho ponitentiary after his iirst attack on Snow, who, while Mayor, incurred his enmity.
