Auckland, March 7

At the Police Court to-day 48 young men were charged with having failed'iio render personal sorvice tuidfer part 6 of the Defence Act, ISOO. There were two further arrests today for failure to pay fines infiietrd for breaches of the Defence Act. Edward Henry Edwards, and Walter James Hooper, who failed to pay a fino and costs amounting to £2 10s, were taken |to Lyttolton to work out an.alternative of twenty-one days' imprisonment. ■ i!
