AUCKLAND GENERAL LABOURERS' UNION.
MEN NOT READY TO STRIKE
Auckland, March G.
The General Labourers' Union meeting to-night was attended1 by about -100 or 500 members only. Mr. P. Fraser (president), occupied the chair, and then Federation of Labour officials were present. Tin: meeting, which was not open to the Press, occupied about throe hours, but it is understood that the matters were rofwred to tho Federation of Labom again, and that the general tone oi the meeting was against an immediate strike, as tho time was inopportune, as the employers were, ready and the men were not. The Auckland Suburban Local Bodies' Association decided to-night to recommend the local bodies which its members represent to adopt the schedule of wages which the City Council has decided to pay.
