The condition of Detective Berg, who was wounded by Tcbbitt when the latter endeavoured to shoot Mr Leopold Rothschild, is serious. Mr-Rothschild states that ho know Tcbbitt when he was a boy, and helped him on several occasions, and finally sent him to Australia. ' Tebbitt- was remanded. His solicitor stated that the prisoner's mind was affected by inlluenza and the overstudy of chemistry.
