AVOID OPERATIONS, Extract from London "Medical Magazine" for May, 1910:—"Tkese ferments, obtained from the papaw, are made up in the form of an ointI tnont and gargle, and are recommended as an application to enlarged glandular tissues, tumours and ulcerations. The present preparation seems to i combine the most active ferments of the_ plant in a successful manner. Its activity was demonstrated by several j casos of hypertrophy of the turoinal | bodies, and in cases of enlarged tonsils. After three cr four weeks' application there was very, very marked improvement. There can be no doubt *.hat the preparation is unusually effoctive, and should prove very serviceable, obviating the necessity for operative procedures in many cases. Such operative procedures are often adopted much too hastily. The present ferments are well dosorving of a trial, and in many cases we have no doubt tho result will be satisfactory."
