MARCONI PATENT LAWSUITS. NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT INVOLVED. [Presb Association—Coftbight.] (Received Jan. 17, 1.18 a.m.) Melbourne, Jan. 16. The Australian agent of the Marconi Company has issued a writ against the'Huddart Parker Company claiming damages for infringement of Marconi patents on ships in Victorian waters by using the Telefunken system. Tlie agent stated that instructions to issue the writ were received from Great Britain. Similar action will.be taken in New Zealand against the Huddart Parker Company and the New Zealand 6o» verninent. Mr. Fisk, tho agent, referring td statements that tho Marconi company's action against Siemens Brothers had been withdrawn said tliey-com-menced action for an infringement of only ono patent, and that was withdrawn in order to institute a fresh action which is now proceeding.
