Wellington, Jan. 16. Th© following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather forecast and summary : — Tho barometer has fallen everywhere, but is unsteady in tho south to-day; warm and hnzy weather has prevailed, with increasing cloudiness, ivvt unsettled and showery conditions have ruled 311 tlic West Coast of tlw South Island, and rain is reported there this evening. Strong westerly and northerly winds have predominated, and Rales were experienced in and southwards of Cook Strait last night.
