Auckland, Dee. 10. | A Native named Charlie George, of : Mercer, employed by the Railway Do- ! partment as one of a relaying gang was ltiii over yesterday morning and instantaneously killed by the Mercer Huntly goods train. The driver of the train states that the morning was , grey and foggy and as the train ap- '■ proached Kimihia he saw something between the lines, lying in a crouched ; and bundled position. He was un- ;;'>!(' to pnil up in time, and the body was terribly mutilated. Deceased's bicyck' was found by the line, and it is .supposed that he had a fall, rendering him unconscious. Ho was a j married man.
