AMERICAN MINE DISASTER.

An explosion in the main mine in the- Cross .Mountain system at Knoxville, entombed probably 100 miners. Throngs ft' women and children are boseigTug the shaft mouth. Thrw"of the entombed men escaped by a lateral shaft. The rescue parties Ivcrc driven out by the flames without seeing any signs of the victims, and little is expected to be done till tho fire is 'subdued.
