NELSON EDUCATION BOARD.

TECHNICAL COMMITEE,

The monthly meeting of the Technical committee of the Nelson Education Board waa held on Saturday morning, when there were present: Messrs. W. N. Franklyn (chairman). J..D. Beuke, W. Lock; and F. W. O. Smith.

The director's monthly report gave full details of tho capitation earned at various classes during the third term, the following being a summary: Nelson Technical School £421 10s: Westport £100 5s 9d; country classes £28 8s sd. Total £610 10s 2d.

It wns decider] that pending departmental checking of tho claim, a request for an early progress payment of £500 bo made to the Department, and that tho committee deem the position as very satisfactory. Tho director further reported that Ihp whole cost of the accumulators for elcctrir'a] equipment (£130) had now been raised by voluntary contributions and Government subsidy.

A letter from the North Canterbury Education Hoard re co-operation in securing a Government grant for school swimming baths was received. It was decided that tho director prepare schedules of material required in the various departments, and that tenders he invited for supplies for 1912.

Payments for salaries and allowances only were authorised and the committee i-ose.
