The Motueka Horticultural Society's spring show will be hold on Wednesday uoxt in tho Society's Hall.

The Club evening at the Girls' College on Saturday evening, held under the auspices of the Old Girls' Association proved a great success and was largely attended. Two dramatic pieces wore produced "Mrs. Willis' Will," and "The Sins of Eliza," by Barry Pain and tho various characters were cleverly portrayed. In the former Misses L. Lucas, M. Maginnity, Blechynden, S. Fell and Tomlinson took part, and in the latter Misses Hodson and Foil.

A very unseemly incident occurred at the No-licenso open air meeting in Trafalgar street on Saturday night. "While Mr. A. R. Atkinson was speaking a rotten egg was thrown and hit a lady'occupant of the express, ruining her dross. During the evening another individual threw a large cracker amongst tho crowd, but this dangerous folly was soon suppressed by the police. The speakers throughout the evening were subject to a good deal of interruption.

The second heat for the President's four of the Nelson Rowing Club for Dr. Andrew's trophy, was rowed on Saturday evening, and a most exciting race took place. G. Stewart's crew defeated McCabe's by n
