Christchuroh, Nov. 22. At the Addington stock sa.le there wero fairly large entries of stock and a good attendance of buyers. Store sheep wero firmer and fat lambs wero easier in consequence of a large yarning. The demand for beef was weaker,, and prices went down Is to 2s per 1001b. Fat sheep wero also weaker by Is to. Is 6d 4 per head. Pigs sold at improved prices, as also did store cattle. There was v.wry small entry of store sheep, consisting of two or throe lines of ewes in lamb, a few pens of woolly hoggets,.and some shorn wethers. There was a large attendance, and the demand being keen, all lots were sold at advanced rates. Shorn wethers and young ewes with lambs sold particularly well. Shorn young ewea with lambs made 12s and the same class in the wool 10s to 10s 7d; aged ewes in the wool with lambs 8s

2d, and shorn 7a Bd, all counted; 4 and G tooth dry ewes in the wool 15s ; 4 and G tooth shorn wethers 14s 7d to 15s lOd ; 2 and 4 tooth shorn wethers 12s 3d -to 13s 4d; smail shorn 2 tooth wethers 11s; woolly hoggets 12s to 15s 6d, the latter price being paid for a few of good quality. i Thoro were no fewer than 737 fat lambs penned, which is the largest number yet offered this season, lastweek's good prices no doubt having induced growers to send some in. ' There was a very good demand on the ' part of butchers, but owing to the plentiful offering prices declined 2s jto 3s per head. The general quality of the yarding was exceptionally good. Best lambs made 14s Cd to 18s 3d, and lighter 11s to 14s.

Tlie yarding of fat sheep was smaller than of late, and consisted principally of shorn local lines, there being only a few Southland lines on offer. The market opened a shade weaker than last week's rates, but the supply proving ample, prices eased off towards the closo of the sale, when they were lower by Is and Is 6d as compared with the previous week. The range of prices was woolly wethers 19s 4d to 26s 9d; prime shorn wethors 15s Gd to 20s, others 14s 5d to 15s; woolly owes 19s Id to 22s 9d ; prime shorn owes 14s Cd to 18s Cd, others 13s 3d to 14s; woolly hoggets 19s 3d to 19s 8d; shorn hoggets 13s 9d.

The entry of fat cattle totalled 309 as compared with 182 last week. The quality was generally prime, and tho North Island consignments made a large part of the entry. Tho competition was weaker in consequence of the largo supply, and values receded by Is to 2s per 1001b. Steers made £d •5s to £14; hqifers £6 15s to £9 2s 6d end extra to £11 ss; cows £5 7s Gd \ nnf, 10 7s 6(1 > e(lual to 26» t<> 35s per 1001b.

A good entry of veal calves made 4s fad to 43s (3d according to size and quality.

A iwor yarding of store cattle met with an improved demand, makinglo to 18 months 40s to 50s, extra to •M; two year steors £4 5s (passed) ■ three year heifers £4 11s and dry cows 35s to £46 ss; dairy cow's brought £3 10 to £9 2s sd. There was a smaller yarding of fat pigs than last week, and prices wero consequently firmer.
