THE LUNCHEON.

At 1 o'clock His Excellency and party adjourned for luncheon,, which was served in two marquees. Tho president (Mr. Godfrey Best) presidI ed, and on the right was His Excellency- Lord Islington, and on the left the Hon. R. McKenzie, Minister for Public Works, who represented the 'Government. Among those invited were: His Lordship the Bishop of Nelson, Rev. J. H. MacKenzie, Rev. Father Goggan, the Mayor of Nelson (Mr. T. A. 11. Field) and Mrs. Field, J the Mayor of Motueka (Mr. G. E. Lowe) and the Mayor of Richmond (Mr Jas. Hunt), Mr J. Graham, oxM.P., Messrs P. Best (chairman of AVaimea County Council), W. N. Franklyn (chairman of the Education Board), Oapt. McDougall, Messrs J. Coutts-Moon (Tourist Department), Wyvern Wilson, S.M., Wilson Heaps (Sheriff). G. A. Edmonds (Town. Clerk), S. Tlttall (Town Clerk, Richmond), G. Macmahon (chairman of ~the Harbour Board), E. E. Trask (president of the Nelson Jockey Club) Capt. Meddings (Defence Department), Mr. H. R. Duncan (Navy League), and the judges and committee of the Association and the Pr.esa representatives. An excellent cold collation was provided by Mr. H. Saunders, of the Commercial Hotel, and at the conclusion the toast of the King was honoured.
