A revolt of Arab women spread like wildfire, and soon there were a thousand rioters. Zouaves were called out to quell the disturbance, and a conflict ensued. Meanwhile Arabs killed all the Italians they could find. Two were mercilessly beaten to death, and a child was slaughtered on its mother's lap. Houses were forced open and the occupants butchered. The bodies of 30 Arabs and 24 Italians were found and also a great number of wounded. , . . TuntS, Nov 12.. Eleven hundred arrests were made in connection with the rioting.
