(From "Tlie Colonist," July 7.)

'Ihe twenty-fourth annual show of the. Nelson Poulti y Pigeon and Canary Association was opened at tho DriJl Shed yesterday, and lasievening*wa» well attended. Over 700 exhibits wore penned, entries having been received trom all parts of the ljominion. In the . poultry section the exhibits were judged b.v experienced local fanciers, but the services or Mr. James Noble, ot Sydney, were secured to adjudicate on the pigeon and canary sections. Additional pens, which had been ordered from Christchurch, did not arrive until yesterday morning, too late for the show, and the caretaker (Mr. J. Hockey) set to work and arranged pens at short notice, thus getting over what • promised tos be a difficulty. The judg- ' ing, which gave general satisfaction was got through expeditiously, and the complete prize list was available ' before four o'clock in the afternoon. The secretary (iir. F. Gibbons) and other officials are to be congratulated upon the complete arrangements ' made.
