WEATHER FORECAST.

Wellington, July 25. The following is the Rev. *D. C. Pates' weather forecast and summary : A south easterly gale and heavy rain have been reported to-day from Cape Campbell and Blenheim, but variable ■winds and cloudy and changeable weather have prevailed in the north. The barometer has risen slightly. No reports are avaihiblo from the East Coast south of Kaikonra owing to telegraphic interruption. Present indications arc for cold, cloudy and unsettled weather generally, and rain is probable in most parts of tho coun-1 try. Southerly and easterly winds strong to gale are probable generally, and a very unsteady barometer.
