AN IMPORTANT DECISION,

Sydney, June 2G. The High Court annulled the Land Engineers and Firemen's Association registration under the Commonwealth Conciliation and Arbitration Act. Tho decision was a majority one .Messrs. Justices Higgins and O'Connor dissenting. The Court ruled that an industry contemplated by the Act is one in which botli employer and employeo are engaged, and iiot merel" in an abstract sense, or in other words the labour of tho employee being given for remuneration from the emnloyer does not constitute an industr; The case was important, affecting the Broken Hill Proprietary Company and 175 other respondents.
