NELSON RUGBY UNION

A meeting of the Management Committee was held last evening, tho President (Mr. R. W. Stiles) occupying the chair, and there were also present: .vlcssrs. Shritnpton, Emerson, Hurley, Johnston, Logan, Omuimgton, Saunders, Kitcliingj and the secretary; A letter was received from Mi. Nalder, referee iti the Nelson-Gollegt matcli, re warning a player.—Received. On a letter from the Richmond Hockey Club., it was resolved that the captaiii of the Rival junior tea in be askod to appear before the Union, land 'j;ive an explanation, and a'sd that the hockey.club bo asked for further information. The explanation of the Hope Club for not fulfilling their engagement was icceptod, an,d it was rtfsblved that the dub bo fined ss. A letter from the Old Boys Club was received, calling the attention of the Union to the fact that J. Palmer had played for the Northern League. Palmer forwarded an explanation, which was accepted as satisfactory. Resolved, that tho Riwaka Club forfeit two points for playing two defaulters to another club last Saturday, and that the Riwaka Club be written to and asked which list they required their applicants to be placed on. Resolved, that the Riwaka-Waimoa match, set down for Saturday next, be postponed. A letter from the secretary to the Minister for Education, re Stoke Industrial School, was endorsed anct ordered to be fawarded. Resolved, that the Waimea Club be written to asking that an improvement lie made in the ground. Resolved, that the New Zealand Rugby Union be written to in connection with the erection of a training shed, and asked to advance the money for that purpose.

A vote of thanks to the chair closed the mooting.
