Towards tho end of the game Batehelor again ran through his opponents and scored, but the kick at coal failed. Old Boys 40, Albion nil. "The Old Boys showeti good combination, and beat their opponents in all departments. The Albions had a good forward team, but the backs were weak. Mr. Atkinson referee^. Kia Ora (5) v. Riwaka (3). As usual, the meeting of these teams attracted a large attendance of spectators at-the Motueka cricket ground. Play was of an even nature during the greater part of the first spell, and the homo team was penalised -repeatedly for offside play, which eventually culminated in H. Pike kicking a penalty goal for Riwaka. In the second spell Kia Ora played with more combination and attempted some passing, which, however, was generally spoiled at the critical moment by faulty handling of the- ball. At length, Jackson got over from a forward rush, and Bradley placed a splendid goal. Although up to the call of time Kia Ora made determined attempts to score they were unable to penetrate the defence of the Riwaka team. The Kia Ora backs, after several games together, shou'd prove a good combination. Riwaka had a strong forward division, but require some stronger backs to support Palmer, who was the main stay or this division. Mr. Nalder refereed. Waimea (9) v. Nelson (0). At Richmond, after a hard game, Waimea defeated Nelson by nine points to nil. Nelson had a rather weak team and played one man short. In the first spell Poole scored near the corner ilag, but no goal resulted. The second spejl was particularly hard, Nelson being hard pressed to keep their line clear. Wilkes, however, eventually scored near the corner flag, but no goal resulted. A penalty goal was also kicked for Waimea. Mr. Logan refereed. For tho winners Pagel, at half, played well, and of a good solid pack of forwards Jake Best was promiijgnt. Saunders an<l F. Hiinter ;;lay'ecl good gani'es in the' Nelson backs, while J.
