At the annual meeting of the parishioners of tho Church Epiphany the following office bearers were chostM: Minister's warden, Mr Chas. page • peoplo's warden, Mr Hugh Page; vestry, Messrs W. C .Baigent, A. Whclliam, L. Neulove, W. S. Penney, Jas Walker, Thos Stewart, A. Kerr 'V V Bonsemaim; auditor, T. B. Sadd. Mention was made of tho bad state <>.f .some of the .limbers in the church building, and also the urgent need of paintiiH' the building. Finally a sub-comn, ittee consisting of Mossrs A. Whclham W. J. Pennoy and J. B. Sadd undertook to canvass for subscriptions towards getting the work done. Messrs Langridge and Co., \M-, have offered the use of their generator and a free supply of carbide, if funds are raised to put in the lights and connecting piping, and tho church committee is hopeful enough money may bo raised by their appeal to do this work as well as the repairing and painting of the church. At the School Committee election for Ixnyer Takaka there was a record attendance. The election of tho neiv committee resulted, as follows: Messrs W. Bajrd. (chairman), Hugh Page, W. .J, Penney, G. S. Hayes, J. F. Rose, G, H. Moorish, and Dr Adams, all being members of the previous committee except Mr G, H. Morrish, which amounts to a very solid vote of confidence in the previous management of affairs,

J.he evor burning question of bible teaching in ncliools was raised by Mr McFarlane, minister of the Presbyterian Church, who suggested to the Committee that ho and Mr Grossman of the Church of England, would like to take half an hour per week alternately for tho teaching of bible truths during school hours.
