SATURDAY. Appearances for a fine day on the morning' of Saturday put the bowlers both visiiiiig and local, in the best of spirits. The morning was dull, but the clouds gradually rolled away, th<3 sun peeped out, and "everything in the garden (or green) was lovely." Thel-twd gr&m, .despite the moisture of the previous day, played exception, ally well, and proved that Messrs Day (Nelson) and Tomblin (Maitai) had laboured hard and long in their efforts to make the playing surface satisfactory.
