Messrs. George Thomas and Co., Wellington, report a very dull fruit market this week, the demand for cooking and eating apples, dessert and cooking pears, peaches, and tomatoes being depressed, owing to the ]arge quantity coming to hand daily from Motuekn. and the market showing a little tiredness. They quote late plums 3s Cd to 5s 6d ; best peaches 5s to 6s, seconds 2s to 2s (3d; Cox Orange 7s to 8s fid ; Muuroe's Favourite 4s to 4s 3d ; Alfristons 4s ; Jonathans 4g 6d to -U 6d; Epp's Sedling 3s 6d to 4s; dessert pears, Winter Cole, 4s to 5s half-case; tomatoes Is 6d to Is 3d. There is very little demand for Nelson grown potatoes.
