The office of the Official Assignee (Mr. A. Simpson) and his alleged methods connected with bankruptcy proceedings were severely criticised and condemned at a meeting of creditors to-day in the- estate of E. W. Jacobs, baker, who absconded some time after he was declared bankrupt. A motion was declared carried unanimously that the meeting enters its emphatic protest against the manner in wlrich the Official Assignee conducted the winding up of the estate A motion that the. resolution be .rescinded was carried after a long discussion.
