STATE TIMBER YARD.
Sydney March 11. Mr Griffith, Minister of Works, states that the Government intends establishing a State timber yard for the supply of the .needs of different departments. He proposes to contract with a couple of North Coast mills for th© whole output. This would mean a great saving financially, and also overcome difficulties recently experienced when the Government was unable to obtain supplies, causing public works to be held up.
