TRAGEDY AT MELBOURNE.

A CHILD MURDERED

Melbourne, March 10

A tragedy occurred in Melbourne, where* a labourer named Smith and his wife quarrelled. Tho wife left her home, and on returning found her husband standing over their three year old child with a razor in his hand and the child's throat fatally cut. Smith has been arrested. He had been drinking. Ho admitted that he had killed the child to spite his wife.
