London, March 9

Tn the House of Commons Mr J. Swift MacN'eill, Liberal member for Cambcrwell, pointed out that Lord Lansdowne's Lords roform proposals would be unable to pass unless the Crown waived its prerogative prior to their discussion, since the abolition of the peers' ri.^bt to seats in the House of Lords would curtail the Royal prerogative.

Mr Asquith made a guarded reply. Mr Asquith, replying to Mr W. Field, member for St Patrick's, Dublin, said that in view of the number of subjects on the agenda paper, and the limited time available, he was unable to recommend the Imperial Conference to discuss co-operative legislation for the prohibition of gambling in options and futures.
