Dr Findlny is a passenger by tho Victoria. Interviewed he explained Now Zealaud's indeterminate, sentence;; and said they had been the means of warning young fellows who wero steering clear of hard work. There wore 100 less persons in prison at present than in the corresponding month of any previous year, tho Act's deterrent effect being strikingly noticed.
