Mr. MeGowen promised an Amateur Sporting Federation deputation a £ for £ subsidy up to £200 towards the cost of sending representatives to the Empire Festival He said one ot his reasons for doinp; so was that it meant an advertisement for New South Wales.
A Chnstchurch press message says tli.it Guy Hawkins, of Christchurch, lias been seloehd to join the Australasian team to compete at the Festival of Umpire sports. Raskins will compete in the half-mile and mi.c running events.
