BIBLE LESSONS IN SCHOOLS.

[United Press Association.]

Ghristchurch, March 9. The East Cliristcliurch School Committee recently took a vote, of tho parents on the question whether or not they wished their children to attend the Bible lessons, and sent out 1200 voting papers, 013 being returned in favour of the proposal. To-night a conference was held between tho School Committee and the Ministers'' Association as to the best method to bo adopted,

Bishop Julius spoke in support of the proposa'i, and said liis own clergy, would be ready to give what help was asked of them.

Other ministers thought that thd time proposed, from 3.30 to 4 p.m. on Fridays, was not the most suitable as the children were looking forward to a holiday after the week's work.

Several teachers concurred in this view, and the meeting adjourned to allow the Ministers' Association to confer and decide on a suitable timo for the lesson.
