MAN KILLED INSTANTLY.

Mr 11. H. Middleton, foreman of tho Powell Process Works at R-angataua, while in charge of the working of a. "stumping devil" yesterday afternoon was, owing to the snapping of a hook, struck on the side of the head. Tho bi'.ow smashed his head, and caused instantaneous death. The hook broko when the machine was at the maximum pressure. Deceased leaves a widow and two children.
