APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANTS. [United Press Association.] Wanganui, Fob 15. At the last meeting of tho Auckland Education Board the appointment of an assistant inspector who would «o round the various schools of the district supervising and helping the teachers was made. The same evening the chairman of tlie Wanganui Education Board proposed exactly tlie same apointment, a .ml deputed the chief inspector to visit Duiiedin regarding a suitable person. At the meeting to-night the inspector recommended Mr D. Stewart, teacher of the model school attached to tlie Normal school, Dunedin. Tho salary is C'jOO, with an annual increase of £20 and expenses. The position is designated as assistant inspector and organiser of schools work. Mr H. Martin, first assistant of the Dunedin city school, was to-night appointed visiting science master of the Wanganui Education Board. There were eleven applications.
