STATUTORY MEETING.
VR. P. BEST RE-iELECTED CHAIRMAN. -

A statutory ineeting of the Waimea County.. -Council for the purpose of electiog -a, chairman for the ensuing year, was held at the County Council offices yesterday. Members present were : Crs. P. Best, H. Everett, G. Macriiahon,; T, Hewetson, W. Alborough, arid E. S. Hoult. ; Tho Clerk (JVIr S. Blbmfleld) took the chair, and ; ca;iled for nominations. ■ Or 'Hoult, in proposing that Cr Best be, r^elected ,' said that although^ lie did not as a" rijle -believe iv the office bei ng , held cqritinuously, : Tiy any one councillor,' he th<iuglit at 'the present time; it was desirabW that Cr Best should again' fill the position.
